Obituary

Paul D. Swett, Sr. age 76, of Keshena, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Appleton. Paul was born in Norway, Maine on June 6, 1942, son of the late Henry and Barbara (Toothaker) Swett.  He served in the United States Navy for 20+ years and won the Color Company Award for his prestigious and excellent performance as a drill instructor.  On September 15, 1961, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Reiter in Milwaukee.  Besides raising their own children, Paul and Lorraine opened their loving home, welcoming many foster children for over 40 years.  Paul was a member of the Menominee Veterans organization, volunteered as a driver for Brown County Social Services and was a drug and alcohol counselor for over 20 years.  He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing.  Paul loved playing golf, cribbage, card games and spending time with his family and friends.
Paul is survived by: his loving wife of 56 years, Lorraine; children, Wayne Swett of MI, Paula (Mike) Starks of TX, David (Allison) Swett of Keshena, Lana (Anthony) Holzendorf of Green Bay, Eleanor Swett of Green Bay, Carla Hernandez of Green Bay, Donna Smith of Bonduel, Mario (Arisbe) Swett of Green Bay, Armondo (Katelyn) Swett of Green Bay, Tony Swett of Green Bay, George Swett of Green Bay and Paula Swett of Oconto; numerous grandchildren; his brothers and sisters in Maine, Bob, Terry, Charlie, Sally, Linda and Laurel; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by: his son, Paul "Dooner" Swett, Jr.; two grandchildren, Brooklynn and Elijah; his parents; two brothers, Walter "Wally" and George "Sonny"; and one sister-in-law, Brenda.
Funeral services for Paul will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Keshena with Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Father David Barrett Hall in Keshena from 11:00 am Monday, June 25, 2018 until time of the services on Wednesday. A wake service will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation and the Keshena American Legion.
