IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pauline B.
Mccartan
May 11, 1933 – November 21, 2020
Pauline Blanche McCartan, age 87, of Bowler, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Ella Besaw Center in the Town of Bartelme. She was born on May 11, 1933, to the late Stephen and Thelma (Davids) Putnam in the Town of Red Springs. Pauline was united in marriage to John Ralph McCartan, on August 27, 1966, until his passing on January 10, 2010. She had a solid work ethic and spent over 30 years as a Senior Customer Service Recorder for Honeywell in Milwaukee.
Before Parkinson's disease made it difficult and then impossible, being active was a large part of her life; she loved going to the YMCA to swim and shoot baskets, she enjoyed daily walks, making homemade bread, and she was always up for a game of driveway badminton! Scrabble, Spinner and Wii Bowling were also favorite pastimes. She enjoyed traveling and accompanied her daughter Jean and sisters on various vacations. Her sweet tooth was legendary, and anything chocolaty was always welcome. She had a fun sense of humor that evoked laughter! Pauline knew heaven was her future home and she seemed ready to go there. In the meantime, she has left a void. She will be deeply missed.
Pauline is survived by her children: Kathy (Bill) Polzin of Milwaukee, Jean (Mark) Heinze of West Bend, and Jay McCartan of Milwaukee; and grandchildren: William, Matthew, Benjamin, Alyssa, Daniel, Abigail, Amy and Jathen; three sisters: Betty, Marie (Jack) and Judy (Butch) and one brother, Joseph (Rosie).
Pauline was preceded in death by her first husband, James Abresch, her second husband John McCartan, her parents, Steven and Thelma, and four sisters, Ramona Harder, Beverly White, Beryl Schwann, and Virginia Putnam.
Graveside services for Pauline will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Stockbridge Indian Burial Grounds, Town of Bartelme, with Pastor Paul Johnson Officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the cemetery from 1:00 pm until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Pauline's name may be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. https://www.michaeljfox.org
