Obituary

Peter N. Bies, age 78, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home. Born on June 28, 1939 in Waukesha, he is the second oldest of 17 children of the late Peter A. and Helen (Serris) Bies. On June 20, 1959, Peter married Judy Huff in Dubuque, Iowa. The couple lived in Montana for six years before returning to Wisconsin. He loved his job as a truck driver and enjoyed talking about trucking. Peter enjoyed hunting, fishing and listing to music, especially Box Car Willy. He loved his two pets, dog, Rex and cat, Rosie. He enjoyed family gatherings, a good fire and a good story.

Peter is survived by: his loving wife, Judy; five children, William (Linda) Bies of Appleton, Roxanne Paholke of Green Bay, Cynthia "Cindy" (Guillermo) Soto of Bonduel Robin (Jeffrey) Anderson of Chesterton, IN and Nicholas (Kerri) Bies of Zenda; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Charlene Schilling, Pat Elsner, Barb Shearer, Joseph Bies, Mark Bies, Jerry Bies and Tim Bies.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Swedberg Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil.
