Peter "Jim" Pyatskowit, age 38 of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, July 31, 2020 in Minneapolis. Peter was born on November 8, 1981, in Oconto Falls to Darren Hawpetoss of Duluth and Lee Pyatskowit of South Branch. Peter was raised in Keshena by his grandfather Louie Hawpetoss and Uncle Ap. Peter was a talented athlete who loved basketball and cross-country. Among his many talents was being an artist, particularly drawing Native American art. Peter approached most everything with a great deal of passion and enthusiasm. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. His many children were his world and he loved bragging about them. The love of his family was a priority for Peter.

Peter is survived by his parents; his many children, Seth, Catherine, Cailee, Carmen, Charlee, Aiyana and Kivanna; siblings, Everette, Cary, Leslie, Miranda, Autumn, Martylee, Trishia, Tiffany, Trinity, Darren Jr., and Louie; special friend, Randi; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic masks will be mandatory to attend visitation. Visitation will be held at The Pyatskowit Residence, N1207 Spirit Island Road in Keshena, from 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 1, 2020 until 11:00 am on Monday, August 3, 2020. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Neopit.
