Obituary

Phyllis Mary Tinsman, age 90 of the Town of Wescott, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at a local nursing home. Born on February 18, 1924 in Whitewater, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Zingsheim) Garska. On December 7, 1945 she was united in marriage to Jack F. Tinsman in Chicago. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2013. Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Shawano and a member of the St. Martins Catholic Church in Cecil. She was also a member and past president of the Shawano Women's Club. Phyllis enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time with her dogs. Phyllis is survived by: her daughter, Jacky (Albert) Popp of Shawano; a grandson, Wade (Jenny) Popp; a great-granddaughter, Bethany Popp; a sister, Mary Jo (Bob) Brunner of Shawano; a brother-in-law, Tony Zahringer of Shawano; and a sister-in-law, Helen Garska. Phyllis was preceded in death by: her husband, Jack; her parents; a brother, Kenneth Garska; and a sister, Dolores Zahringer. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cecil with the Deacon Mike Grezca and the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:30am until the time of the service.
