Obituary

Ramona "Mona" Skenadore, age 82, of Keshena, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, in Keshena surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren and family. Ramona was born on November 14, 1933 in Keshena, the daughter of the late Ralph and Edna (Gauthier) Lyons. She attended school at Haskell Institute, Lawrence, Kansas. Ramona worked at the Menominee Indian School District for 26 years. On November 20, 1979, she was united in marriage to Clayton "Brokie" Skenadore. They enjoyed 29 years of marriage. Mona enjoyed traveling, coach bus trips with the family to amusement parks, and getaway trips to the casinos. She loved crocheting, gardening, playing cards and walking, but most of all, she had a passion for the lake lot. Being together with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, camping, is where she could be found all summer long. Ramona's camping buddies, Uncle Bert, Auntie Baby, Bert Davids and the camp chef, Darrell were always at her side. Mona was an awesome, loving mother and friend and an inspiration to all. She and her sidekicks were also known as the golden girls (Mona, Myrna, and Toots).
Ramona is survived by: her children, Ralph (Margret) Lyons, Bryan "Sid" (Mary) Lepscier, Louise "BabyLou" (Darrell) Madosh, Edna Penass, Barbara (Jerry) Allery, Roberta Penass, Carol Penass, Linda (John Mark "Hub" Latender) Penass, Toni (Marvin) Spruce, Fred (Brenda) Lynk, Scott Lynk and Ralph (Victoria) Penass; grandchildren, Antone, Sarah, Christa, Matt (Shawn), Lisa, Manih, Brandon, Brian (Jen), Justin (Crystal), Destiny, James (Jesse), Thomas, Bobby (Linda), Lisa, Stephne (Glenn), Daphne (Javier), Frankie, Jennifer (John), Alicia, Sean "Kenē w" (Desiree), Shane, Marvin (Kimmie), Samantha, Allie; and her great-grandchildren. Ramona is also survived by a brother, Bert (Judy) Lyons; sisters, Myrna Caldwell and Bertha "Baby" Steckbauer; special sister, Corrine "Toots" Menore; sister in-law, Cheryl Irving; brother in-law, Mike Lepscier; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ramona was preceded in death by her first husband, Barney "Audeen" Penass, her husband, Clayton "Brokie" Skenadore; sister, Isabel Boivin; brothers, Melvin, Jerry, Ralph "Toad" and Gilbert "Chummy" Lyons; children, Susie Penass, Myron "Smoky" Penass; and grandson, Teddy Davids.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with Father Francis Zurbano officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Neopit Community Center from 2:00 p.m. until the procession leaves for church. A parish wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016.

The family would like to express a very heartfelt Thank You to ThedaCare Hospice and to all those who stopped by to put a smile on our mom's face. All your love was the greatest medicine for our mom.
