Raymond E. Nicholaus, age 90, of Wyndemere Estates in Green Bay, formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2015 in Green Bay. Raymond was born on March 29, 1924 in Bonduel, the son of the late Emil and Anna (Heling) Nicholaus. On June 19, 1948 he was united in marriage to Irene Werbelow at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Irene preceded him in death on April 5, 1989. Ray worked for Consolidated Badger for twenty years, where he was very proud of his perfect driving record. He later worked for 4-Wheel Drive in Clintonville where he helped manufacture Seagrave Fire Trucks, until his retirement in 1987. Ray was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening in his free time. Raymond is survived by: his daughter, Jan (Steven) Born of Green Bay; his granddaughter and joy of his life, Tiffany Born; as well as a sister-in-law, Marian Nicholaus of Shawano. Raymond was preceded in death by: his wife, Irene; his parents; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
