Rebecca White Eagle-Scherer, age 50 of Rockford, IL, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 after a long illness. Born on November 26, 1961 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Paul Bent and the late Margaret Matchopatow. Rebecca had lived in Rockford near her father for the last 15 years. Together they enjoyed traveling across the country. She also enjoyed doing crafts and beadwork, reading books, telling jokes, watching movies, dancing and playing with her nieces and nephews, and spending time with her family. Rebecca was very fond of all the wonderful memories she had of camping with her boys, especially when they were young. Rebecca is survived by: 2 sons, Keith Lucero of Rockford, Phillip Scherer of Rockford; her father, Paul Bent of Rockford; 2 brothers, John (Jackie) Bent and Joseph Bent; her nieces and nephews, Anthony, Matthew, Angelica, Monica, Jack, Julian, Jamison, Ash-Lynn, Jordan, Jacob, Rena, Paul, Samantha, Isaiah, Angelina and Amber; and her great-nephew, Antonio. Rebecca was preceded in death by: her mother, Margaret; a sister in infancy, Susan Marie Bent; and her brother, Paul Bent III. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. Robert Rank officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Parish Wake Hall in Keshena from 4pm on Thursday until the time of the service on Friday.
