Obituary

Renai Louise Penass, forever thirty, began her journey to our Creator where she was welcomed with open arms by loved ones that had gone before her on November 10, 2023, in Neenah, WI.  Renai was born to Emily (Tourtillott) Thunder and the late Alan "Moon" Penass on November 19, 1992, in Shawano, WI.  Renai was a lifelong resident of the Menominee Reservation.  She was a proud Menominee tribal member who was inspired by her family and community to stay in touch with her culture and language.  Renai was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit, WI.

Renai began her schooling at Menominee Tribal School and then graduated with honors from Menominee Indian High School in 2011.  It was during her high school years she met the love of her life and father of her four children, Shannon Tucker Jr.  While in high school, Renai was part of the volleyball and softball teams.  After high school, she still had the love of those games and played them recreationally. Upon graduation, Renai became a home health aide.  She also worked for many years as a dispatcher with Menominee Transit and held roles at North Star, Menominee Casino and was a Deputy Clerks of Courts for the Menominee County Office.  Her most recent job and the one she excelled the most at was being a stay-at-home mother to Layla, Kaedence, Hailey and Draeden Tucker, who were the biggest and most prized accomplishments of her life.

Renai was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.  She loved taking rides in the woods, especially when mudding was involved.  Spending time with Shannon, their children, family and friends are what she loved most in life.  It was noted that Renai had enough love for the whole world.

Renai's smile and laugh will be missed by those she is survived by which include, her mother, Emily and stepfather, Dewey Thunder; her four children, Layla, Kaedence, Hailey and Draeden Tucker; her high school sweetheart, Shannon Tucker Jr; two brothers Robert (Megan) Penass and Michael Laird; three sisters, Raenell Penass, Sadie Laird and Le'Chelle Penass; three nephews, Robert, Michael, and Royal; one niece Sophia; her Middle Village family; nieces and nephews, Jayceon, Passion, Faith, Joshua, Evelyn, Emilee, and Jamison, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Renai is preceded in death by her father, Alan "Moon" Penass; maternal grandparents, Charles "Dooner" Tourtillott, Suzette and Robert "Butch" Summers, and her paternal grandparents, William and Emmerine Penass.

A funeral mass for Renai will be held at 11:00 am on Friday November 17, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit, with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Visitation will be held at the Charlee Ann Miller residence N561 Brooks Lane, Keshena, starting on Wednesday at 2:00 pm and continuing until the procession leaves for the church on Friday.
