Renee Marie Vigue, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in South Bend, Indiana in her home. She was born in Shawano, Wisconsin, on September 17, 1955, to the late Edward George Vigue and Lois Frechette House.
Renee's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She served in the University of Notre Dame Building Services Department, her work ethic and friendly demeanor were widely recognized and appreciated. She served not just with her hands but with her heart, making both the university's campus and employees' lives brighter with her presence. Renee lived for her grandkids, and for them she chose sobriety and celebrated it for 16 years.
Those who knew Renee were blessed with her kindness for others. She is survived by her son, Steven Vigue of South Bend; three daughters, Renee LaTender and Teresa (Richard) Cromartie both of South Bend, and Lois (Michael) Kassem of Mishawaka; fourteen grandchildren, Nileah, Brendan, Jennifer, Ryanna, TJ, Mylia, RJ, Kaylee, Kyler, Lanie, Elliana, Kenna, Cami and Alaya; three great-grandchildren, Royce, Hudson and Renelli; her siblings, Julie (Mark Norton) Vigue and Anthony (Diana) Vigue both of South Bend, and Andrew (Rina) Vigue of Appleton, Wisconsin. Along with her parents, Renee was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Vigue and her great grandson, Salem.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00pm, at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN. And visitation will take place on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 4:00pm until time of services on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 11:00am, all at St. Michael Parish, N816 State Hwy 47-55, Keshena, WI. Renee will be taken to the Menominee Indian Reservation for her final resting place. Swedberg Funeral Home, Shawano, WI is also assisting with arrangements.
