Renford "Renny"
Perez, Sr.
May 27, 1941 – January 15, 2026
Renford "Renny" Perez Sr. age 84, of White River, AZ, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Mesa, AZ, surrounded by his family. Born May 27, 1941, in Keshena to the late Camilo and Mary (Kinepoway) Perez. He was the last of Camilo and Mary's surviving children.
Renny attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Keshena where he was a boarding school survivor and later graduated from Clintonville High School. Renny was proud to have served in the United States Army for from 1966-1972. He was a combat vet during the Vietnam Era.
Renny was a well-travelled man, he was blessed by being able to visit a majority of the United States. Following his service and travels Renny settled with his wife and children in White River. Renny was extremely proud of his family. They were his pride and joy. He played a big role as the patriarch, when he was around no one had a worry; including his special nephews Mike and Melvin "Sonny" who joined him in Arizona later in life. While living among the White Mountain Apache Tribe, the community grew to know and love him just as much. In his free time, he loved being out in nature. Whether it was the Menominee forest or the mountains of Arizona, he was truly at peace.
Renny was known for his great sense of humor and kind and loving heart. He was skilled in many ways, including jewelry making, singing with his treasured guitar, and was a well-rounded mechanic. He was always willing to share his talents with anyone that needed his help. His generosity seemed to return to him in luck. He liked to play slots and more often than not, he would win.
His heart always remained with his land and people on the Menominee Reservation. Fall was Renny's favorite time of year. He made a yearly trip home during 'shang season'. Those visits were cherished by all who knew him. He was everyone's favorite uncle, and it was truly a treat if he stopped in for chili and a long humorous visit. He was very loved will be missed dearly.
Renny is survived by his children, Wanda, Ramon "Sonny", Renford Jr. "Jody" (Cary), Anthony "Tony"(Tammy), Joey, Joshua, Toree, Jose, and Camilia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in law Anita Perez, brother in-law Lawrence "Rusty" Maho Sr. Special sister, Deborah Lyons, special nieces, Cheryl, and Mona Gay. He is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents Camilo and Mary; children Michael and Emiliano "Nunzie"; siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Bailey, Donald "Donny" Kinepoway, Louis "Louie" Perez, Benjamin "Buddy" Perez, Robert "Bobby" Perez, Mona Fish, Gaynell Maho, and Clarence "Stinky" Perez.
Cremation services were conducted in Arizona. Family run memorial gathering of family and friends to honor Renny's and his son Nunzie memory will be held at the Deborah Lyons residence located at N2702 West Branch Rd, starting on Wednesday February 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 11:00 am on Thursday February 5, 2026, with Military Honors being conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation.
