IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reynold W.
Katchenago, Sr.
March 11, 1940 – March 29, 2021
Reynold Katchenago was born on the Menominee Reservation on March 11, 1940, began his journey home on March 29, 2021.
His parents, Abraham and Olivia (Nacotee) Katchenago raised their family on the Menominee Indian Reservation in an area fondly referred to as the South Branch. Their family grew with the addition of Ren's twin sisters, Donna and Darlene whom he cherished and remained close throughout the years.
Ren loved his sports and all knew that he was a huge Packer's fan. He also loved his Chicago Cubs and was excited to live to see them win the series in 2016. As an athlete at Shawano High School, he competed in football and basketball and dreamed of coaching someday. His goal was to teach and also coach, which took him to the University of Whitewater. Although his collegiate career ended before that dream fulfilled, he still advised and coached his children and grandchildren in their sport endeavors. He instilled his love of sports and how to compete, so we believe his dream was ultimately fulfilled.
In 1964, Eleanor (John) and Reynold were united in marriage. Their family grew with the addition of Crystal, Cynthia (Cyndi) and Reynold (Renny) Jr. The marriage ended but they eventually reunited. They were re-united in marriage in August 1996. True love always manages to find its way back home.
Surviving with great sadness are his children, Crystal (Michael) Barry; Cyndi (Matt) Mann, Reynold (Val) Katchenago Jr.; stepson, Nate Pecore; grandchildren, Amanda Barry, Brooke Barry, Cassandra Barry, Jesse (Fernanda) Mann, Samuel Mann, Cole Mann, Caitlyn Katchenago, Chase Katchenago, Tiana Schneider, Dean Schneider and Justin Schneider; special daughter and niece Coleen (Aldo) Waubanascum; nieces, Lynette (Kim) Latender, Tammi (Dan) Cruz, Rita (Duane) Teller, Nicole (John) Gnadt, Sheila (Val) Navarro; nephews, Harold (Linda) Katchenago, Steve (Kori) Price, Tyrone (Clar) Tucker, Tracy (Theadora) Tucker, Randy Tucker, Reginald Tucker, Ronald (Georgina) Tucker, Glen Tucker; special sisters, Rose Madosh, Evelyn Nacotee, Jane Nacotee, Merlynn (Tomcat) Johnson; and special brother, Richard Nacotee Sr.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Tucker; brothers in-law, Robert Tucker and Harold Price; nephews, Richard Fisher, Todd Tucker, Bernard Tucker; and special brother, Thomas Nacotee.
