Obituary

Reynold James "Gutta" McPherson, age 79, of Keshena, passed away on Tuesday August 22, 2023, in Waupaca. He was born on November 9, 1943, in Keshena to the late Alfred and Mildred (Dickie) McPherson. Reynold worked at the Menominee Indian lumber mill for many years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit.

Reynold is survived by his sisters, Karen Boyd, Donna (Clifford) Bentilla, Yvonne Apolinar, Neomi McPherson and Carol McPherson; sister-in-law, Debbie McPherson and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Reynold is preceded in death by his brothers, Milton McPherson, Roger McPherson, Lester McPherson and Dennis McPherson.

Here is an article written by the Gesu Parish about Reynold.

"Here at Gesu, we bid farewell to a very special Native American. Involved in a partnership with God to serve and be of assistance, he has quietly given 21 years of dedication. Amongst the whisper of prayers and rosary beads, between the daily masses from dawn to dusk, a "servant in silene' filled his day by singing the praises of the Lord. His disposition was always sincere; his attitude consistently Christ-like. Significantly, his deep Christian faith has given each of us an example on which to build. Faithfully, he served as the daily sacristan to many priests here at Gesu. On weekends, his religious activities continued as a Eucharistic minister and a regularly scheduled usher. Further, he contributed his presence and many interesting ideas as a member of the then-called Socialization Committee. His name is Reynold McPherson. It is with a great sense of appreciation that we wish you God's blessings of love and peace and good health as you return to the Green Bay area and your people, The Menominee Tribe."
