Rhienhart 'Rhieny' Otto Teske, age 87, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016. Rhienhart was born in Shawano on March 22, 1929, the son of the late Otto and Ella (Heling) Teske. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1946. On July 22, 1950, he was united in marriage to Betty R. Nordwig at St. John Lutheran Church – Hermansfort. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2000. Rhienhart enlisted in the United States Army on September 13, 1946 and received an honorable discharge in 1948. After returning to Shawano, he farmed in the Town of Herman until retiring at the age of 56. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, woodworking, traveling, and playing cards.
Rhienhart is survived by: five children, Debra (David) Hesselink, of Green Bay, Jeffery (Alyce Welk) Teske of Gresham, Rick (Jennifer) Teske of Pickett, Beth (Jeff Alexander) Miller of Shawano, and Amy (Ted Druckrey) Laux of Embarrass; 14 grandchildren, Craig ( Jamie) Hesselink, Brian (Melissa) Hesselink, Jay (Missey) Teske, Megan Welk, Shianne Welk, Austin Welk, Reese Teske, Brittany Teske, Kyle Miller, Kenton Miller, Brandon Westphal, Tanner Westphal, Laken Laux, and Keane Laux. He is further survived by seven great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Alexis, Ian, Desiree, Jaxon, Jude, and Baylee; as well as one sister, Edna Buettner of Shawano; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Judy Teske, David and Shirley Nordwig, Mabel Nordwig, and Bernice Nordwig. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Betty, a son-in-law, Robert Miller; his parents, a sister, Laverne "Toby" Cerveny, and his brother, Robert Teske.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church-Hermansfort with Rev. Steve Conradt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #117. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
