Richard William Prochaska, age 70, passed away on Tuesday May 23, 2023, in Shawano. Richard was born on October 21, 1952, to the late William and Irma (Malish) Prochaska in Antigo, Wisconsin. He graduated from Antigo High School in 1970. On October 30, 1976, he was united in marriage to Gail Novak. Richard worked for the Wisconsin Central/ Canadian National Railroad from 1974 to 2005. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. Richard enjoyed watching all sports but particularly baseball and softball in which he also coached little league baseball and softball in Shawano.

Richard is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gail Prochaska; children, Amy (Eric Jensen) Prochaska, Joe (Janalee) Prochaska and Lori Prochaska; grandchildren, Dalton (Cambria Marquardt) Prochaska, Dylan Prochaska, Desiree Pyatskowit, Jacelyn Pyatskowit, Carter Pyatskowit, Austin Prochaska, Addison Prochaska and Arnold (AJ) Pyatskowit III; great-grandchildren, Everly, Navy, Reed Prochaska; brother, Jim (Ruth) Prochaska of Antigo; special pet, Chica. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his brother, George Prochaska and his parents, Bill and Irma Prochaska.

A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday May 30, 2023, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano, with Rev. Dan Hanyzewski officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am on Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
