Richard P. Skalitzky, age 72, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Appleton. Richard was born in Shawano on May 6, 1946, the son of the late Benedict and Alice (Blish) Skalitzky. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.  On August 7, 1987, he was united in marriage to Debra Fischer Grueb in Shawano.  He worked for Montour-Engel for 50 years.  Richard enjoyed camping, working, watching the Packers and his dogs.

Richard is survived by: his wife Debra; children, Diana (Tim) Tomas, Jessica (Bret Fischer) Skalitzky, Michael (Emily) Grueb and Melissa (Joey) Goldsberry; grandchildren, Zack, Jarrett, Dustin, Ryan, Alyzza, Jordan, Danielle, Daisha, Kadyn, Kendra and Keagen; great-grandchildren, Brixon and Cloey; brothers, Eugene (Eileen) Skalitzky and Mike (Barb) Skalitzky; sister-in-law, Karen Skalitzky, as well as other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Dennis and Barb.

A memorial service for Richard will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Hope Community Church in Shawano with Rev. Todd Bonnin officiating.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Shawano AMVETS post #10.  Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
