Rick "Cowboy" Lane, age 50 of Shawano, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 in Shawano. Born on June 19, 1962 in Shawano, he was the son of Marlene (Fischer) Lane and the late Jerome Lane. Rick lived his entire life in Shawano and was a graduate of Shawano High School. On August 19, 2006 he was united in marriage to Robin Edwards in Shawano. Rick worked at Auto Zone in Shawano and was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church. In his free time he enjoyed singing and playing in several bands and he rarely missed on opportunity to ride his Harley. Rick is survived by: his wife, Robin; 2 sons, Joseph (special friend, Samantha) Befay of Shawano, Jefferey (Bridget) Befay of Oconto Falls; 5 grandchildren, Arion, Haily, Ashtyn, Isabella, Peyten; his mother, Marlene Lane of Shawano; a sister, Marsha Johnson of Milwaukee; a brother, Randy (special friend, Sherry) Lane of Marshfield; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donna and Fred Edwards of Suring; brother-in-law, Chris (Michelle) Edwards of Gillett; and a sister-in-law, Jenny Edwards of Green Bay. Rick was preceded in death by: his father, Jerome; and a sister, Brenda. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano.
