December 12, 1940 – November 19, 2019
Robert Lee "Bobby Dinks" Boyd, Sr., age 78, of Gillett, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in Shawano. Robert was born on December 12, 1940, in Keshena, to the late Leslie and Madeline (O'Conner) Boyd. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Bonduel High School. Robert was a mill worker for the Menominee Tribal Enterprise and a Game Warden for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and cooked many recipes made of wild game. Robert was a foster parent for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs and cats. Robert valued the time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert is survived by: his children, Yvette (Richard) Ducane of Suring, Robert (Nancy) Boyd, Jr. of Keshena, Kari (Clark) Kelly of Livingston, Montana, Aric Boyd of Gillett, Shane Boyd of Keshena, Judy Boyd of Keshena, Peter Boyd of Keshena, and Amber Boyd of Kenosha; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he raised two of his grandchildren, Deven Boyd and Katilynn Dodge; and raised two of his adopted children, Jamie Rupar, Stacie Boyd, and Scott P. Dervin. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Leslie and Madeline; one daughter, BobbieJo Ellen Boyd; his siblings, Leslie Edward "Uncle Bunkie" Boyd, James "Uncle Jimmy" Boyd, Sr., Jeanette "Aunt Jeanette" L. Bruette, Judith "Aunt Judy" Anne Williams, Patricia "Nana or Aunt Pat" May Raeder, and Ruth "Ruthie" Hancock; and a half-brother, Vyron Dixon, Sr.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at the family residence, N1098 SE Bass Lake Road, from 4:00 pm, Wednesday, November 20, 2019 until 2:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2019.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and the Menominee Department of Aging and Long Term Care for the care given at home.
