Robert Harold Cathey, age 86, of Bonduel, passed away on Saturday June 6, 2020. He was born on August 11, 1933 to the late Omar and Myrtle (Ruby) Cathey and was the youngest of six. Robert worked his first job at 12 years old at Saucers Bakery in Fairfield, IA and at 14 worked at Pickens Tire Co. in Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1952. Robert was a man of many talents and started working at Briggs Plumbing & heating in 1951. He taught himself to weld at his father-in-law's Phillips 66 station.  He was united in marriage to Bonnie Winfrey on June 28, 1952 in Fairfield who later preceded him in death on October 12, 2019. He was hired by Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline in 1958 and worked until he retired in 1990 as a superintendent at the Bonduel, WI site. Robert and John Dahl started a skeet shooting club in the late 1950's. He and Bonnie started Northern Musical Instruments as well as raising cattle. He was known for his craftsmanship and repairing skills of banjos, mandolins, and guitars. They traveled the US in a 5 ^th wheel and spent many winters at their winter home in Zephyrhills, FL.

Robert is survived by: his children, Robert "Chuck" (Linda) Cathey of Tampa, FL, David Cathey of Green Bay, and Michael (Kathleen) Cathey of Bonduel; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Bonnie; his brothers Frank and Omar; and his sisters, Beverly, Rosamonde, and Kathryn.

Private family inurnment for Robert will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Washington at a later date with Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Family requests all memorials be made out to ThedaCare Hospice and the church. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
