Robert James "Bob" Buettner, age 75, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, in Cecil. Bob was born in Shawano on February 11, 1947, to the late Wallace and Phyllis (Krause) Buettner and graduated from Shawano High School with the class of 1965. He enlisted in the military and served in the United States Air Force until receiving his honorable discharge. On May 27, 1967, Bob was united in marriage to Marlene Boerst in Bonduel. The couple lived in California and then Maine for several years before returning to the area. Marlene preceded Bob in death on July 24, 2012. On September 30, 2017, Bob was united in marriage to Barbara (Kallies) Engebretsen at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Bob worked as an AI technician for Midwest Breeders/Genex for 40 years. He also owned and operated Bob's Landscape Service. Bob was a hard worker and a perfectionist, and he loved and took great pride in his work. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, spending time outside, and tending to his many rose bushes. Bob was a great man and was known for his memorable laugh and his contagious smile. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara; his three daughters, Kristine (Chris) Lindemuth, Dorene Buettner, and Shelly (Brandon) Wudtke; Barbara's children, Julie (Terry) Yonker, Jeff (Cindy) Engebretsen, and Chris (Vicki) Engebretsen; his grandchildren, Connor Lindemuth, Dayton Lindemuth, Gracyn Wudtke and Cole Wudtke; Barbara's grandchildren, Josh (Marie) Yonker and their son, Callen, Jacob Yonker, Taylor Yonker, Brenda Engebretsen, Justin Engebretsen, Riley Engebretsen and Connor Engebretsen; and 2 sisters, Bonnie Bartz and Becky Buettner. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Marlene; son, Jeffrey; his parents; and brother and sister, Bill Buettner and Barbara Dillenburg.
A funeral service for Bob will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 27, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm and again on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Bonduel American Legion.
