Robert McKay, age 82 of Shawano, died on September 8, 2018. Born on September 12, 1935 in the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County, he was the son of the late Cecil and Bernice (Willing) McKay. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957. He married Lois Mae on November 10, 1956 at Thomasville, GA. Robert was employed at the Neenah Foundry for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. Robert enjoyed woodworking, ATV riding and farming. His special four legged friends were his German Shepherds, King and a cat, Penelope.
Survivors include: a son, Ferlin (Carrie) McKay of Rudolph; six grandchildren, Matthew (Gladys), Andrew (Kersten), Ryan (Maria), Erin (Jon), J.T. (Shay) and Jessica (Trey), 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Cindy) McKay and John McKay; a sister, Patricia (Mike) Laux; his close companion for many years, Jean Plaufcan; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois, daughter, Roxann Keck and his parents.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
