Robert B. "Bob" Miller, age 89, of Gresham, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Shawano. Robert was born on October 19, 1929, in Gresham, to the late Edith Miller. Following high school Bob joined the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean Conflict. On June 13, 1959, Bob married Yvonne Ringel at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hermansfort, in Shawano County. During his life Bob worked for Allen-Bradley, he drove the gas truck and managed the Gresham co-op, he worked as a custodian in Gresham School, and also worked as a used car salesman in Gresham. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham, was a charter member of the Mohican Veterans and a member of the Gresham American Legion Post #390. He enjoyed visiting with friends and customers at the "gossip shop", otherwise known as Gresham Auto and was known for trading in his vehicles "regularly". Bob especially loved going to the casino to gamble and visit with friends. He also enjoyed playing cards, attending Pow Wows, and cutting the grass on his rider (even when it did not need to be cut). More than anything, he was a family man, he enjoyed spending time his family and joking and visiting with family and friends.
Robert is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Yvonne; his daughters, Pam Miller, Trish (Reid Watters) Miller, and Renee Miller all of Gresham; daughter-in-law, Theresa Miller of Gresham; three grandchildren, Devon (Gretchen) Miller, Kierston Miller, Brendan (Melena) Price; five great-grandchildren, Kaidyen, Kailyanna, Deklyn, Jackson, and Max; one brother, David (Julie) Pleshek; one sister, Paula (Ed) Stewart; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Rudesill; and his best friend, Keith Rudesill. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Edith Miller; his foster parents, Melvin and Christine Bogda; his son, Brian "Smilie" Miller; and his brother, Albert "Charlie" Miller.
A funeral service for Robert will be held at 11:30 am, on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at The Woodland in Gresham with Rev. John C. Eyer officiating. Burial will be in Red Springs Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Mohican Veterans and the Gresham American Legion Post #390 outside the Woodland following the service. Visitation will be held at the Woodland in Gresham on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
