Obituary
Robert Francis Rebman, age 91 of Shawano, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 in DePere. Bob was born in Bear Creek, WI on April 10, 1927, son of the late Lawrence J. and Helen M. (Stanton) Rebman. Bob served our county during WWII in the United States Navy from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1948. While serving his country, he met Jeanne Elizabeth Nuske and the couple was married on May 29, 1948 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville. They resided in Appleton until 1967 when they moved to Green Bay. In 1989, the couple then moved to Shawano. Throughout the years, Bob worked for Wisconsin Michigan Power Company, Murphy Supply Company and finally Crescent Electric Supply Company until his retirement. Besides his full time job, Bob also worked as a part-time insurance salesman for Equitable Reserve Association and held the District 7 position on the Shawano County Board of Supervisors. In his free time, Bob liked fishing, gardening and traveling. He enjoyed helping and caring for others, visiting with his friends daily at Farm Inn on Main and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by: his wife of 70 years, Jeanne; six children, Joan M. Mostek; Kristine A. (Robert) Krueger, Peter G. (Mary Tree) Rebman, Paul R. (Julie) Rebman, Bart A. (Susan) Rebman and Rachel S. (Michael) Rifleman; 14 grandchildren, Aaron Naber, Jason Naber, Michael Renkens, Wendi Renkens, Eric Rebman, Nicholas Rebman, Laura Albers, Sallie Berndt, Jeanne Nicolet, Wade Rebman, Nikki Otero, Jennifer Ronsman, Anne Rifleman and Jacob Rifleman. He is further survived by 12 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Helen (Loy) Garrity, Lawrence (Claire) Rebman and Hubert (LuAnn) Rebman.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Joseph Rebman in 1948 and David Rebman in 2016; his parents; and his siblings, Roger Rebman, William Rebman, Gerald Rebman, Kathleen Kroner, Mary Lou Backes and Thomas Rebman.
A memorial mass for Bob will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Fr. Thomas Farrell officiating. Military Honors will be conduct at the church by the Shawano American Legion Post # 117. Inurnment will be in Allouez Mausoleum in Green Bay. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
