Robert "Bob" F. Thayer, Jr, age 80, of Bonduel, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2016, after his long battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Bob was born August 26, 1935, to the late Robert and Jean (Gielczewski) Thayer in

He was united in marriage to Ellie Doljanin on February 14, 1935 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in
Chicago
,
IL
. They had recently celebrated their 57
th
wedding anniversary.
Bob and Ellie moved from
Chicago
IL
, to
Wabeno
,
WI
and lived there for 10 years.
He worked for the Department of Transportation for 17 years before retiring and moving to Bonduel to be closer to his daughters and family.
Bob loved to spend time with his family and friends, going to see the guys at the Shawano McDonalds, and golfing with friends.
He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Bob was known for his quick wit, great sense of humor, always willing to help others, and his good heart.
Family was everything to him.
Bob is survived by: his wife, Ellie; three daughters, Laura Thayer of Bonduel, Janet (Stephen) Cheney of Marinette, and Kim (Travis) Jiskra of Bonduel; his grandchildren, Rob (Suzy) Wettstein, Kyle (Megan) Cheney, Ryan (Anne) Wettstein, Kristin Cheney, Kelli (Billy) Forrest, Hallie Jiskra, Tyler Matelski, Jackson Jiskra and Riley Jane Jiskra; great-grandchildren, Ella, Max, Wynn, Harper Jean, and two more additions to come. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by: his parents, one sister June and brother-in-law George Lowe.
