Robert James "Bob" Urban, age 89, passed away on Monday January 30, 2023, in Shawano. Robert was born to the late Mary Urban on July 26, 1933, in Town of Waukechon. On September 26, 1953, he was united in marriage to Mona Druckrey at St. James Lutheran Church, who preceded him in death on April 14, 2020. Robert worked at the Shawano County Highway Department for many years, until he retired as a supervisor. He enjoyed the cottage on the Bay of Green Bay, hunting and auctions. Robert loved spending time visiting with family and friends

Robert is survived by his daughter, Connie Hesse; his granddaughter, Kris Hesse (Myka Brzezinski); his siblings, Nancy Heller, Jim (Peggy) Boettcher, Ken (Dawn) Boettcher, and Mike (Debbie) Boettcher; his sister-in-law, Bev Kassube. His is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife Mona; his grandson Lee Hesse; his son-in-law Duane Hesse; his brother Roger Boettcher; and several in-laws.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday February 11, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Schauder officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 11, 2023, from 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. Spring burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be held at the church with American Legion Post #117.
