Robert Ralph White, age 87 of Shawano, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 in Green Bay. Born on June 11, 1925 in Rhinelander, he was the son of the late Clifford R. and Mary C. (Ridings) White. On July 26, 1943 Bob enlisted with the Unites States Navy and served his country for three years during World War II. Two months after his honorable discharge from naval service, Bob enlisted with the Unites States Army and served his country for an additional three year during the Korean War. On August 4, 1956 he was united in marriage to Donna Kukuk in Milwaukee. The couple made their home on Legend Lake where Bob loved to fish. They returned to the Shawano area 15 years ago. Bob was a very active member of the United Methodist Church in Shawano and was active with the Ad Council. He was also an active member of the V.F.W., Shawano American Legion, 40et8, F&Am of WI, the Shawano Shrine Club, Shawano Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Rite Bodies. In his free time, Bob enjoyed going to the casino. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved to watch them play. Bob is survived by: 3 nephews, Dan Krout of NC, Dick (Tanya) Krout of Wrightstown, David (Linda) Krout of Green Bay; and a great niece, Megan of Green Bay. Bob was preceded in death by: his wife, Donna on September 13, 2009; his parents; a brother Byron; and a sister, Judy Krout. Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Shawano with the Rev. Domnik Israel officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117 at the church following the service. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 3:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Robert's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
