Obituary

Roberta Rose "Bertie" Cox, age 63, of Neopit, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 in Green Bay. Roberta was born in Keshena on August 8, 1953, the daughter of Merceline (Neconish) Warrington and the late Merle Warrington. On September 2, 1972, Bertie was united in marriage to Walter J. Cox in Neopit. Bertie loved teaching and was a Head Start teacher for the past 19 years. In 2002, she received her Associates Degree at the College of Menominee Nation. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Bertie is survived by: her husband of 43 years, Walter; their children, Michelle (Gary) Frechette, James (Carey) Cox, Jeffrey J. (Angela) Cox, and Lindsay (Joshua) Besaw; 15 grandchildren; her mother, Merceline Warrington; and her brother, Michael Warrington.

She was preceded in death by her father, Merle, one sister, Lorraine Cox and special nephew, Awaesesaeh Warrington.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Father Francis officiating. Visitation will be held at the Cox residence, N1552 Crow Settlement Rd in Neopit from 12:00 noon on Monday, August 15, 2016 until the procession leaves for the church on Wednesday. A parish wake service will be held the Cox residence at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
