Roberta Margaret Robinson, age 93 of Neopit, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Neopit. Roberta, who is a descendent of Chief Oshkosh, was born on the Menominee Reservation on February 13, 1925 to the late Roland and Catherine (Waukau) Oshkosh. Other than the 17 years she spent in Washington State, Roberta lived on the reservation throughout her life. She was very active in her community serving on numerous committees for the tribe. Roberta married Earl Robinson, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1976. Roberta enjoyed reading and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Roberta is survived by: her son, Roland (Dawn) Robinson of Winneconne; five grandchildren, Adam Robinson, Aaron Robinson, Kajali L. Robinson, Eskedar K. Robinson and Jodie (Dan) Weller; two great-granddaughters, Megan and Katie; and her sisters and brother, Ramona Wheelock, Rowena Oshkosh and David (Ann) Oshkosh. She is further survived by her very good friends, Faye Dodge, Melissa White, Susan Waukau, Sister Stephanie and Gail Swanke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other great friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Earl; two children, Catherine Robinson and Earl Robinson, Jr.; her brother, Ronald Oshkosh; and good friend, Schabow Miller.
Funeral Mass for Roberta will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Fr. Joel Jores officiating. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center starting at 4:00pm on Saturday, January 19, 2019 and continue until the time of the mass on Monday. A parish wake service will be held on Sunday at 7:00pm.
