Obituary

Roderick Glenn Connahvichnah, Sr., age 65, of Keshena, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at his home. Rod was born on January 7, 1952 in Oklahoma, the son of the late Robert and Thelma (Penewardy) Connahvichnah.  On July 3, 1970, in Chicago, IL. Roderick was united in marriage to Rita Miriam Peterson, who preceded him in death on July 14, 2014.  The couple started a family and lived in the Chicago area for 16 years before moving to Keshena.   Rod worked as a shift manager at the Menominee Casino, enjoyed playing golf and watching the Chicago Bears.
Roderick is survived by: five children, Wayne (Carol Madosh) Connahvichnah of Neopit, Rod (Maria) Connahvichnah, Jr. of Shawano, Sosaeh (Colleen Waukechon) Connahvichnah of Keshena, Louise (Jerry) Waukau of Keshena and Chode Olson of Shawano; 13 grandchildren, Ashley (Shawn), Lindsay (Anthony), Chaise, Ryan (Alex), Sosaeh, Jr., Vivica, Hunter, Delsin Pero, Wayne, Jr., Shane, Mariah, Kenewseah and Alyssia; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; his parents; one sister, Kathleen Penewardy; and one brother, Edward Connahvichnah.
Funeral services for Roderick will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena with Rev. Francis Zurbano officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Connahvichnah residence located at N353 Pine Meadows Road in Keshena on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 4:00 pm until the procession leaves for the church. A parish wake service will be held at the Connahvichnah residence at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
