Roderick Hudson "Butch" Davids, Sr., age 74, of Bowler, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at his home on the Stockbridge-Munsee Indian Reservation. Roderick was born August 31, 1945. He was the fifth child of Kenneth and Minerva (Miller) Davids. Roderick grew up with his family near headquarters on the Stockbridge reservation. When he was about 11 years old, the family moved to Milwaukee. Roderick attended school at Bethany Lutheran Elementary, Wells Junior High and West Division High School in Milwaukee. In December 1963, Roderick married Crystal Neal and had three children. They divorced in 1980. Roderick worked as a machinist at Falk Corporation from 1963 until he retired in 2006. After retiring, he returned to the reservation. Roderick was an intelligent, strong and independent person. He was a lifelong fan of the Packers and the Brewers. He loved to read and watch movies. He enjoyed talking with family and friends and playing games like scrabble or cribbage. Roderick especially loved his dogs Obie, Pretty Girl, and Wapo.

Roderick is survived by: his daughter, Daun Davids; his sons, Roderick (Jennifer) Davids, Jr., and Joseph (Rachel) Davids; his grandchildren, Katelan and Kenneth Davids, and Alexander and Briana Marrs. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and numerous family and friends especially on the reservation.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Marilyn Boivin; his brothers, Kermit "Doodle," Ronald "Son," Rodney "Chum," and Shayne Davids.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Upon family request, we ask that no memorial donations or gifts be sent at this time.
