Roger John Goerl, age 84, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. He was born on March 31, 1933 in the Town of Herman, Shawano County, Wisconsin, the son of the late Herman and Lydia (Stefl) Goerl. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1953 – 1955. He received an honorable discharge as a corporal. Roger was a bulk milk hauler for 28 years, hauling for Morning Glory/AMPI. On July 14, 1959, he was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Wegner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leopolis.
Roger is survived by: his wife, Jackie; four daughters, Judi (Andy) Leisk, Linda, Cindy (Bob) Bucher and Wendy; three grandsons, Andy (Amy) Bucher, James Leisk and Ryan (Katie) Bucher; one great-grandson, Maverick Bucher; two step-granddaughters, Heather (Chuck) Ritchfort and Kirsten (Darrell) Laumann; step great-granddaughter, Molly Laumann; a brother, Phillip; a sister, Betty Ainsworth; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and foster family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rueben.
Funeral services for Roger will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Rev. Tom Farrell officiating. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #117. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
