Roger L. "Chief" House, age 85, of Salem, Wisconsin, died on January 16, 2017 at his home. Roger was born in Keshena on August 30, 1931, the son of the late Fred and Rhoda (Oshkosh) House. Roger attended school in Keshena. On January 16, 1954, Roger was united in marriage to Gloria Kitson who preceded him in death on March 28, 2000. The couple resided in Salem since 1962. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Roger worked for Chrysler Motors for 30 years and in his spare time enjoyed hunting, gardening, spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching the Packers.
Roger is survived by: his children, Geralyn Morrow of Kenosha, Delores House of Salem, Frederick House of Bristol and Roger A. (Brenda) House of Bristol; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister Natalie (Dean) Meyers; his brother, Reginald House as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; two sons, Mark and Jeffrey; his parents and seven brothers and sisters, Yvette Peters, Jeanette Frechette, Fern Grant, Arlene Funk, Weston "Buddy" House, Richanda House and Geraldine House and son-in-law, Joseph Morrow.
A memorial service for Roger will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Father David Barrett Parish Hall in Keshena with Rev. Francis Zurbano officiating. Inurnment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the parish hall from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
