Roger R. Meyers, age 90 of Clintonville, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013. Born on September 30, 1923 in Waupaca County, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Esther (Zimmerman) Meyers. In 1945 Roger enlisted with the United States Army and proudly served his country for two years during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he moved to the Milwaukee area where he worked as a press operator in a steel mill. Upon retiring in 1982 he moved to the Town of Pella and later to Townsend before returning to this area. He married Patricia Fleming who preceded him in death in 1981. Roger was a member of the Caroline American Legion Post #456. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Roger is survived by: his daughter, Karen Francis of FL; a niece, Diane (Jim) Johnson; and a nephew, Curtis Campbell. Roger was preceded in death by: his wife, Patricia; a son, Dennis Meyers; his parents; a sister, Donnabelle; and a nephew, Carson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Caroline American Legion Post # 456 at the funeral home following the service. Inurnment will be in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
