Roger Calvin Norton, age 82, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Pine Manor Health Care Facility in Embarrass. Born July 22, 1929 in Shawano, he was the son of the late William and Jessie (Lake) Norton. Roger proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. After service, Roger worked as a logger until his retirement. He married Beulah Bartlett, who preceded him in death on August 4, 2010. Roger loved his life in "The Mooseyards" near Shawano and loved being outdoors, fixing things, spending time with his family and caring for his pets. He had many skills and would give the shirt off his back to help others. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Roger is survived by: 2 daughters, Brenda (Daniel) Koral, Bonnie (Rick) Brown; 6 grandchildren, Brad (Kate) Lang, Mike Lang Jr., Joe Lang, Megan Koral, Surina (Todd) Westphal, Richard (special friend, Lindsay) Wherry III; 3 great-grandchildren, Sky, Morgan and Emily Westphal; 4 step-children, Gene (Polly) Hangartner, Judy Felkowski, Beverly (Terry) Schultz, Suzanne (Richard) Pahlow; 16 step-grandchildren, Chad (Lannah) Brown, Elizabeth Schramski, Rusty, Geno, T.J., Robin, Dawn, Molly, Christie, Paul, Shannon, Gabbie, Thomas, Angie, Shari, Lisa and their families; 2 sisters, Anna Marquardt, Marjorie Yeager; a brother, William Norton, Jr.; and special, family friend, Mike Lang Sr. Roger was preceded in death by: his sister, Iona Martin; 2 brothers, Edwin and William both in infancy; and a sister, Myrtle also in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Melinda Shriner officiating.
