Obituary

Roger I. Peterman, age 86, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday September 6, 2023. Roger was born on July 5, 1937, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Ira and Hazel (Boerst) Peterman. Roger graduated from Bonduel High School in 1955.  Following high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably from 1956-1958. Roger was united in marriage to the former Maribeth Boerst on October 3, 1976, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Roger worked for the Bonduel Oil Company from 1959 until 1986.  He then worked for Westerfeld's for 10 years and the Pulaski Co-op for four years before retiring. Roger returned to work in 2002 when he started with Bonduel Equity. Roger was also a volunteer fireman for the Bonduel Fire Department from 1966 until the present day and an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. He gladly spent countless hours watching his children and stepchildren compete in sports.  He was an avid bowler in his younger years and in his free time he enjoyed watching baseball, football and game shows. Over the years he made many wonderful memories traveling with friends Red and Shirley Nohr and Roger loved going on cruises.  More than anything Roger cherished spending time with his family and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Roger is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Maribeth; children, Douglas (Shelly) Peterman, Dixie (Dan) Brunner, Dorie (Kelly) Wayman, and Denise (Chris) Haltom; three stepchildren, Julie (Al) Hoeffs, Joy (Dennis) Pedersen, and Jason (Sharon) Luepke; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren with another great grandson on the way; a sister-in-law, Joanne Peterman; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Patti Boerst.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lonnie Peterman.

A funeral service for Roger will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Burial will be in the church cemetery and military honors will be conducted by the Bonduel American Legion.  Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of service.
