Roger Harold Ramseth, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home, with his wife and daughters with him on Monday, November 7, 2022, in Cecil. He was born on April 21, 1937, to the late Paul and Olga (Larson) Ramseth in Rock, MI. Roger was united in marriage to Janet Lee Ann Denton on March 17, 1966, at St. John Catholic Church in Marquette, MI. Together they built a marriage of 56 years. He retired May of 2019 from his final career, Wal-Mart after almost 24 years at 82 years of age. He enjoyed being with friends and family, and especially loved being at the dinner table with friends and family when Janet cooked her great meals. Roger loved to travel and loved going for long walks and spending time in prayer. He served as past President of the Exchange Club of Marquette Michigan and the Board of Directors for the State of Michigan Exchange Club for over 10 years.
Roger will always be known for his many jokes and great sense of humor. Many lives were touched by Roger's smiling face and kindness during his 85 years. Roger was very involved in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Cecil for the past few years. Also, Roger was very active in his faith and church when he lived in Marquette and belonged to St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette. Roger enjoyed being a part of the Prison Ministry, Eucharistic Minister, Healing Prayer Team, Knights of Columbus, and Lector.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Janet; children, Michaelle (Ken) Eeg and Stephanie (Steven) Smith; sister, Gayle (Roman) Gill; brother Curtis (Geraldine) Ramseth: two sisters-in-law, Melanie Fuller and Celeste (David) Matz; two grandchildren, Adam Smith and Breanna Eeg. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Roger is preceded in death by: parents; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Byron Dowse; and father and mother-in-law, Wilson (Bill) and Albarose Denton, and one brother-in-law, Joseph Fuller.
