Romaine Marie
Delabrue
June 5, 1943 – August 4, 2024
Romaine Marie Delabrue, age 81, passed away on Sunday August 4, 2024, at her home in Neopit. Romaine was born on June 5, 1943, in Keshena, to the late Joseph and Marie (Grignon) Neconish. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1963. Romaine was united in marriage to Orland Delabrue on April 11, 1964, in Neopit. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Romaine graduated from College of Menominee Nation with an associate's degree in education. She enjoyed working at St. Anthony's Catholic School and Menominee Nation Tribal School where she dedicated over 40 years. Romaine loved to help people, cooking, and scratch offs. All the children loved visiting Ms. Romaine and her husband, known as Mr. Romaine. She had a heart of gold that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Romaine is survived by her husband, Orland; children, Ronald (Tresha), Christopher, Robert (Carrie), Patrick (Christina), and Anthony; grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, India, Lonnie, Heather (Harlen), Danielle, Tasha, Donald (Shirley), and Dawson (Reys); numerous great-grandchildren; and special niece/caregiver, Patricia Waupoose Sparks. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Romaine is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ruth Lohnes, Robert, and Joseph Jr.; and grandson, Dallas Latender.
A funeral service for Romaine will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday August 8, 2024, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. Visitation will be held at Neopit Community Center from 2:00 pm on Tuesday until the time of service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all that help bring food and help the family during their time of need.
