Ronald "Ron" Aloysius Brown, age 73, of Keshena, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday April 27, 2024, in Green Bay. Born on May 16, 1950, in Keshena to the late Audrey Elva Waukau. Ron served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Earlene Wescott. Ron continued to live in Keshena for most of his life and worked as a cook for the Menominee Indian Casino for many years. Cooking was his labor of love and he enjoyed sharing his dishes with his friends and family. Ron's humor was well known, and he was always ready to tell jokes. Ron deeply loved his grandchildren. Finding peace in nature, Ron enjoyed being out in the woods, whether it was riding, hunting or fishing. He will be dearly missed.
Ron is survived by: his children, Aaron Brown, Aleta (Zack) Wescott, Lori (Myron) Wescott, Lisa (Kesa)Wescott, Kimberly (Styles) Brown, William (Arielle) Brown and Robert Brown; his grandchildren, Darrell, Isaiah, Sadie, Taniesha, Leevon, Trista, Desiree, Simone, Mila, Cynthia, Amora, Gianna, Myron III, Taylor, Carter, Brayden, Kacie, Delsey, Diamond, Jayden and Stephen III; his great-grandchildren Mayella, Oaklynn and three more on the way; his siblings, Edmund Waubanascum Jr., Marilyn Waubanascum, Toni Waubanascum, Randy Waubanascum and Tracy Waubanascum . He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his adoptive parents, Loren and Bessy Brown; his siblings Claudine Waubanascum Madosh, Wendy Waubanascum, and Dana Waubanascum; one grandchild, Deondre Moss.
A funeral service for Ron will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and again on Wednesday at 9:30 until the time of the services. Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Neopit.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the healthcare staff that attended to Ron's care, which included the Theda Care Neenah Neuro Unit, The Bay of Suring, St. Vincent's Hospital and Unity Hospice. The family deeply appreciates and thanks the Republic Chop House for their contribution of food and kindness.
