Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Ervin Drage, age 89, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, after a long illness.  Ron was born in the town of Waukechon in Shawano County on April 7, 1933, to the late Ervin and Elda (Westerfeld) Drage.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Eleanore "Ellie" Stanke, on May 18, 1957. He worked as a Production Foreman for over 31 years in the shoe factories of Pulaski and Clintonville. Ron later opened Ron's Shoe Store in Shawano and owned and operated there for 16 years before his retirement. He was very active at St. Paul's Lutheran Church/School where he served on many committees. Ron was also active in the community serving on the Village board of Bonduel and Village planning commission. He was a charter member and scorekeeper of the Bonduel Broncos baseball team and an officer of the DairyLand Baseball League for 23 years.  Ron was a Green Bay Packer season ticket holder since 1955 and attended the Icebowl of 1967. He was an avid fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers. One of his favorite pastimes was watching the grandkids play sports. He lived across the street from the Bonduel Village Park, keeping a watchful eye on park shenanigans for many years.  Ron also loved polka music, especially Romy Gosz.

Ron is survived by:  his wife Ellie; his children Judy (Michael) Pedersen, of DePere, Michael (Aurore) Drage, of Green Bay, and Bart (Kim) Drage, of DePere; his 11 grandchildren Stacey, Jessica, Jon (Chelsea), Jesse (Mya), Dan (Sue), Derek (Rachael), Anaïs, Juliette, Laila, Vincent, Trisha (fiancé Zach); his five great-grandchildren Ella, Calvin, Amelia, Audrielle, and Alexandra; his sister Marlene Klevesahl; sister-in-law Mary Hodkiewicz, Karen Stanke, Marilyn Stanke; and brother-in-law Louis Stanke. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
