Ronald J.A. McDonough, age 69, of the Town of Underhill, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 at his home. Born on April 1, 1942 in Northville, MI, he was the son of John McDonough and the late Evelyn (Walstrom) McDonough. Ronald spent his younger years in Michigan where he excelled in high school football and track. After graduating from high school, Ronald enlisted with the United States Army where he served his country for three years. He later worked as a Merchant Marine and a Great Lakes Pilot. On September 19, 1964 he was united in marriage to Judith Orlando in Appleton. Ronald loved to play poker and enjoyed camping. He was also a history buff especially when it came to the Civil War. Ronald is survived by: his wife, Judith; a daughter, Heidi (Alan) Olsen of Manistique, MI; a son, Sean (Carol) McDonough of Geneva, OH; 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Mike, Jessica, Stephanie, Kristan, Makita; his father, John McDonough of Manistique, MI; 2 brothers, James (Shirley) McDonough and Daniel (Kathy) McDonough all of Manistique, MI; a sister, JoAnn Torreano of Menominee, MI; and his special pets, Misha and Hannah. Ronald was preceded in death by: his mother, Evelyn McDonough; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Torreano.
