Ronald R. Voigt, age 72 of the Town of Wescott, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls. Born on November 22, 1939 in the Tigerton area, he was the son of the late Edwin and Helen (Goretski) Voigt. Ronald grew up and attended school in the Shawano area. His family later moved to Sheboygan where he graduated from Central High School. In 1958 Ronald enlisted with the United States Navy to serve his country. After discharge from service, he worked for Eclipse Manufacturing in Sheboygan until retiring in 1999. On March 10, 1975 Ronald was united in marriage to Diane Sanville Johnson in Las Vegas. In 2000, he returned to the Shawano area where he owned and operated Rock Bottom Propeller and Machine. Ronald was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano and had also been a former Elk's Member in Sheboygan and a Ridge Runner Sportsman's Club member. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun smithing, trap shooting and fixing things. He also enjoyed his snowmobiles and his Canadian fishing trips. He survived by: his wife of 37 years, Diane; 2 daughters, Linda (Dan) Stachow of Racine, Julie Hansen of Racine; 2 sons, Jim (Patti) Voigt of Greenbush, David Voigt of Plymouth; 2 step-daughters, Traci Van Epern of Mooresville, NC, Kim (Brian) Sippel of St. Cloud; 7 grandchildren, Tyler and Jacob Voigt, Melissa and William Stachow, Alyssa Mahloch, Alexa and Shayna Van Epern; 4 sisters, Audrey (Leon) Reinemann of Sheboygan, Arlette (Tim) Girdaukas of Sheboygan Falls, Joyce (Tom) Malwitz of Sheboygan Falls, Judy (Herb)Weiss of Moore, SC; and a sister-in-law, Kay (Jerry) Bizjak of Wausau. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Len Evers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday after 9:30am until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
