After a very full life, Rose Ann Stodall, age 87, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on September 22, 1930 in Gresham to parents Ferdinand and Johanna Studach. Upon graduating from high school, Rose worked in Milwaukee where she met and married Warren Stodall. They moved back to Gresham, where she lived most of her life. Warren died in 1968 and Rose raised five children on her own. She was a very dedicated mother and successfully raised her children with a strong sense of faith and family. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, playing softball and golf. In her later years, she enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, going to the casino and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at many school and sporting events.
She is survived by: three daughters and two sons, Kathy (Richard) Rupp, Christy (Steve) Hettmann, Eric (Deb) Stodall, Joe (Roxann) Stodall and Jackie (Paul) Ebert; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Caroline Grover; and her brothers, Fred and John Studach.
Rose was preceded in death by: her husband, Warren; daughter, Rebecca in infancy; and two sisters, Johanna Vanderpoel and Marie Slagle.
Per Rose's request there will be no funeral service. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Cemetery located one mile west of Gresham on County Road A. A celebration of her life will be held at Eric's Shed, N3960 Wisconsin Ave. in Shawano starting after the service until 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Shawano County Library or Shawano County meals on Wheels in Rose's name.
The family would like to thank the staff at Shawano Health Services for the kind and generous care they gave Rose the last two months.
