Rose Marie White, 80, of Keshena, started her journey to the Spirit World on Friday, April 20, 2012, surrounded by family. Born February 3, 1932, in Keshena, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Oshkeshquoam) Corn. Rose was united in marriage to William Washinawatok on November 11, 1962 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. She was employed by the Menominee Tribal Jail as a cook, for many years. Rose loved taking care of her family, visiting, rummaging, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed grooming and playing with her Pomeranian, "Twinkles". Rose is survived by one daughter Elizabeth (Bob Williams) Washinawatok, of Lac du Flambeau, 3 grandsons: Christopher Newton of West Virginia: Kyle Newton of Oshkosh: Vincent (Elmira Corn) Newton of Illinois: 1 granddaughter, Angela Newton of Keshena and 1 great-granddaughter, Kaybree Newton of Neopit. She is further survived by four sisters: Helen (Norman) Peterson, Elaine Oku, Susan Oshkosh, and Jean Corn, one brother, Danny (Deb) Corn and two special nieces; Joyce Menchaca, and Sherry Waupoose. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, William "BillyWhite", her parents Richard and Mary Corn, four sisters, Velma "Babe" (Lyle) Tucker, Edith Penass, Janice Bellanger, Margaret Nichols and two brothers: Arnold "Bill" (Joyce) Corn, Richard "Sonny" Corn. The family expresses a special thank you to Sherry Waupoose and Melissa White for their committed service to Rose and Bill in the past months. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at the Rose White residence, N680 Burnett Ln., Keshena. Family and friends may call at the residence from 4:00 pm on Monday until the time of the service.
