Rosella Mae (nee Lepinski) Boettcher, age 77 of Bonduel, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, December 16, 2011. She was born in Coquille, OR, daughter of John and Frances Lepinski. She graduated from Coleman High School. She and her husband, Louis, recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Upon Louis's return home from having served in the US Army during the Korean War, they were married at Frieden's Ev. Lutheran Church. After marriage, the couple ran a successful dairy farm for 24 years, after which Rosella started her own catering business located at the Fox Ballroom in Cecil. They catered together for over thirty years until their recent retirement. Rosella was well known for her fabulous foods which she catered to many events and even multiple generations of weddings within the same families. Her skills as a seamstress were also notorious. She sewed the gowns of many brides and bridesmaids, prom dresses, and did countless alterations and the mending of clothes for numerous local families. Most recently, she was thrilled to sew for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosella was very active in the Shawano County 4-H Program, holding the position of club leader for 42 years. During that tenure, she managed the 4-H Food Stand at the County Fair and flea market for 20 years and was the 4-H Summer Camp cook for many years. Rosella was recognized for her contributions to 4-H by Senator Hanaway and received the 4-H Alumni award from the state of Wisconsin for outstanding leadership. She was also inducted into the 4-H Wall of Fame in 2009. Rosella was very active in her community throughout her entire life. She was a member of WISC Homemakers Club, Friedens Ladies Aid, and the Bonduel Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years holding a number of officer positions. She was also a Sunday school teacher for many years. Louis and Rosella owned several Honda touring motorcycles and loved to travel. They enjoyed numerous road trips traveling across the entire country visiting family and friends. They even traveled across the Appalachian Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as to Hawaii, Europe and Africa. In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by: her four loving children, Russell (Darlene) of DePere, Marcelene (Jim) Betzner of Bonduel, Kristyne (Lee) Ericson of Green Bay, Kalvin (Cheryl) Boettcher of Shawano; and her nine dearly loved grandchildren, Christa (Dan) Vanderheiden of Little Chute, Lisa (Wes) Brown of Harrisburg, PA, Jeremy Hacker of Shawano, Sara (Ryan) Palermo of Colorado Springs, CO, Laura (Joe) DuChesne of Shawano, Eric (Tanya) Eriscon of Columbus, WI, Joshua (Sarah) Ericson of DePere, Vanessa Ericson of Green Bay and Kayla Boettcher of Madison. Rosella was delighted to have five great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Alexis Brown, Kelly and Chelsea Ericson, and Amelia DuChesne, for whom she loved to sew and crochet outfits and make handmade toys for them. Rosella is further survived by: her brothers, Bernie (Eleanor), Paul (Linda), Robert (Betty), Tom (Karen), Jim (JoAnne); her sisters, Angeline (Ed) Patenaude, Alice (Vernon) Garrett, JoAnne Fisher, Joyce (Tony) Moser, Mary (John) Boyd; and 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Jean Tolzman of Gillett, Lois Weisnicht of Shawano and Sandi (Mike) Kovach of Clintonville. She is also survived by: a special niece, Wanda (Joel) Nischke and nephew, Lance (Vicki) Olson; many more nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Jerry and Audrey Frank. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by: her in-laws, Louis, Sr. and Florence Boettcher; her brothers, Norbert, Bill and Charles Lepinski; and her sister, Agnes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Frieden's Ev. Lutheran Church located at 405 E. State Street in Bonduel with the Rev. Virgil Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 4-8pm and on Tuesday after 10am until the time of the service.
