Obituary

Russell L. Hottenstine, Sr., age 77, of Cecil, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Russell was born on June 29, 1938 in Shawano, the son of the late Sylvan and Doris (Belongia) Hottenstine. He served our country and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Russell was united in marriage to Nancy Pearl Miller on October 31, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Nancy preceded him in death on September 7, 2007. Russell loved his family, they were the most important thing to him. He loved nothing more than spending time with his sons and grandchildren.
Russell is survived by: three sons, Russell (Patti) Hottenstine, Jr., of Shawano, Steven Hottenstine of Shawano, and Joseph (Kay) Hottenstine of Bonduel; seven grandchildren, Richard Hottenstine, Jessica (Ian) Kuntz, Steven (Nicole) Hottenstine, Jeremy (Stacey) Wood, Jennifer Hottenstine, Chelsea Hottenstine, and Louis (Megan) Skaggs; nine great-grandchildren, Gaven, Marissa, Allie, Bailey, Jace, Steven, Parker, Collin, and Kavion; his sister, Pat Erickson and other siblings.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his son, Michael; his daughter-in-law, Tammy Hottenstine; his parents and one brother, Richard.
Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. David Barrett officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
