IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruth
Armitage
December 20, 1931 – May 15, 2025
Ruth Romain Armitage , age 93, of Bonduel, passed away peacefully and entered into the gates of heaven on Thursday May 15, 2025. She was born in Krakow, WI on December 20, 1931, to the late Walter and Gertrude (Specht) Simon. As a little girl she attended a small school in the country and went on to work at a shoe factory. It was there that she met Milton Armitage, and through his joking ways, their fondness for one another grew. They stayed together even when Milton went off to serve in the United States Army. On October 11, 1960, they united in marriage at Zion Lutheran church in Zachow. The pair raised three wonderful children. Ruth was the perfect wife and mother. She always kept the house in running order and had delicious food ready for her family. Ruth found peace, community, and happiness through her church. Her connection to God and her faith was endless. Through her church, she was able to make countless friends and help wherever they needed her. Ruth also offered a great deal of her time volunteering at the LCFS Thrift Store in Shawano. In her free time, she loved sewing, gardening, and had a knack for canning. Ruth was kind and gentle. She was always there for her family, friends, and community. She will be dearly missed.
Ruth is survived by: her husband of 65 years, Milton; her children , Duane (Yvonne) Armitage, Romain Armitage and Sharon Armitage; her grandchildren, Amanda Armitage, Kristin Armitage, Alex (Zak) Eckrose, Nathaniel Brost, Chandra (Chris) Brost, Kirstie Brost. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by: her parents, Walter and Gertrude; her sister, Caroline Simon.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Zachow on Tuesday May 20, 2025, with Pastor Richard Burkhe officiating. Visitation will begin at the church on Tuesday at 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held in the church cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Bristol Hospice staff for their extended care of Ruth.
