Obituary

Ruth Ann Hauser, age 83, passed away on Saturday October 4, 2025, in Wittenberg. Ruth was born on November 17, 1942, in Appleton to the late Lester and Ruth (Kiddie) Emerich. After graduating high school, she went to college at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where she met her husband, Henry "John" Hauser. On August 22, 1964, the couple were united in marriage in New London, Wisconsin. In 1965, Ruth taught for one year in Appleton then went on to work for the Oshkosh School District in education for 20 plus years. She loved traveling all over the United States with John. Their most memorable trip, named the "Nostalgia Trip",  was when the couple traveled over 10,000 miles over a span of 25 days. Ruth was an excellent crafter, especially when it came to quilting, sewing and making clothes for her children and grandchildren. She loved snowmobiling with John, camping and attending her grandchildren's athletic events. Ruth was known for her baking skills, most notably for her Christmas Cookies. She was a wonderful and fair mother and gave tough love. Ruth was busy-body and always had projects to complete. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 61 years, John; children, Beth (Jim) Bartz of Shawano and David (Stephanie) Hauser of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Adam (Sara), Brad (Cassi), Nicki, Sam (Mary) and Joey; great-grandchildren, Camden, Teddy and one on the way; twin brother, Richard (Kathryn) Emerich of Grafton; brother, David (Marlene) Emerich of New London; and sister-in-law, Mary (Dave Binsack) Hauser. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Tom Hauser; and parents, Lester and Ruth; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Betty Hauser.

A private family celebration of life was held.
