Ruth Ellen Lewis, age 85, of Gresham, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.  Ruth was born on November 6, 1938, in Petoskey, Michigan to the late Harold and Agnes (Koboski) Lewis.  Following graduation from St. Francis Xavier High School in Petoskey, she moved to Manitowoc, Wisconsin where she attended Holy Family College.  Ruth was a former member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity and spent her life helping and serving others in the Keshena area.  She was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church and participated in the Kateri Prayer Circle there.

Ruth is survived by her sister, Jane Goethals, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marian Steiner; and lifelong friend, Regina Webster.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena.  Visitation at the church will begin at 9:00 am with the Kateri Prayer Circle leading the rosary at 10:00 am.  Funeral mass will be at 11:00 am followed by burial of cremated remains at St. Michael's Cemetery.
