Ruth Marion (Pergande, Barker) Meyer, age 86, of Oshkosh, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Oshkosh. Ruth was born in Milwaukee on April 3, 1937, to the late Elmer and Frieda (Voss) Pergande. On May 25, 1956, Ruth was united in marriage to Donald Barker in Milwaukee. Ruth enjoyed her time working at Elmbrook School District until her retirement. In 1988, Donald and Ruth moved to the Shawano area. Donald preceded Ruth in death in March of 1991. Lucky to find love again, Ruth was united in marriage to Larry Meyer in Shawano on April 3, 1993. Ruth was an avid reader and read countless books throughout the years. She loved painting ceramics and was an enthusiastic Boggle player.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 30 years, Larry Meyer; her children, Jeffrey (Dawn) Barker and Jennifer Barker; her granddaughter, Alyssa Barker; her brothers, Donald (Diann) Pergande and Alan Pergande. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Barker, her parents, and her sister, Dorothy Wiedemann.

A gathering for Ruth will be held in the chapel of the flowers at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield  from 1:30 pm on Tuesday May 9, 2023. The gathering will conclude with a committal prayer at 2:30 pm.
