Ruth V. Richter, age 82, of Shawano, formerly of Bonduel, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in Shawano.
Ruth was born on August 2, 1933 in the Town of Hartland, the daughter of the late Si and Ethel (Westerfeld) Uelmen.
On October 17, 1953, Ruth was united in marriage to Elmer E. Richter at St. John Lutheran Church in Pulcifer.
Elmer and Ruth enjoyed 62 years together before Elmer passed away, February 10, 2016.
Ruth had arthritis for over 50 years and had many trials because of it.
She also had Alzheimer's. Faith in God kept her strong and she seldom complained.
Ruth could make everyone smile with her sense of humor.
Her family meant everything to her and she meant the world to her family.
She enjoyed ceramic painting, playing cards, was excellent in the kitchen and also enjoyed watching sports on television.
Two of Ruth's biggest joys were music and dancing.
Ruth and Elmer are surely dancing together in heaven.
Ruth is survived by her three children: Daniel (Melody) Richter of Wisconsin Dells, Keith (Peggy) Richter of Shawano, and Pam (Greg) Rank of Cecil; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Gary (Darlene) Uelmen of Cecil.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Ruth's family would like to thank everyone at Maple Lane for taking such good care of her for the past three and a half years.
Many wonderful people touched her life there and cared so deeply for her.
